Rodney
“BR” Millon was born in New Orleans, LA. Rodney moved
to Los Angeles as young child and picked up on music from his older
brother in his early teens. Rodney began his professional music
career in High School opening for legendary acts such as B.B. King,
Shy Lights as well as Donny Hathaway. He continued playing into
his 20’s as a sideman for Harold Melvin featuring Teddy Pendergrass,
Dennis Edward from the Temptations, DJ Rodgers and Side Effect.
Rodney also got heavily into the recording industry in the early
1990’s and began a long stint as a studio player with Grammy
Award winners such Grover Washington, Jr., Tony Braxton, Ice Cube
and Cece Penningston. Rodney became a first call studio guitarist
for producers Richard Perry, Sir Jinx and Laythan Armour. Rodney
got bit by the “blues guitar bug” in the late 1990’s
after becoming massively disillusioned with the Los Angeles recording
industry. Rodney always had a place in his heart for the blues but
became a devoted pupil of roots blues after realizing it was his
true passion, something he overlooked in his early years. Rodney
remains committed to the blues art form, with a slight predication
towards the blues recordings of the Jimi Hendrix. Rodney currently
tours with 2006 W.C. Handy Award winner Zac Harmon as well as the
PO’ BOYZ. Rodney resides in Los Angeles, California with his
wife, 3 children and Pro Tools studio.
